10 - 20 PPI (Coarse Filtration): Large dust particles, ventilation ducts and pre-filters.
At Vipad®, we supply a wide range of rubber sponge products designed for insulation, filtration, filling and protective packaging requirements. Sponge products are lightweight and flexible elastomeric materials with closed-cell or open-cell structures, providing high sealing performance with low compression force. The appropriate cell structure and material are selected according to the waterproofing, sound insulation, thermal insulation or dust filtration requirements of the application.
Thanks to its high abrasion resistance and excellent compression recovery performance, polyurethane foam is preferred in applications exposed to continuous movement and friction. It is widely used as an ejection pad in cutting dies in the printing industry, as an abrasion-resistant alternative to conventional machine seals exposed to friction and in sealing elements operating in oily environments. Its food-grade formulations and resistance to flammable substances such as solvents and thinners also make it suitable for safe use in chemical environments.

Application Areas: Printing die ejection pads, abrasion-resistant machine seals, sealing in oily environments, food-contact seals and solvent/thinner-resistant sealing elements.
Open-cell polyurethane or EPDM-based filter foams used in ventilation and air-conditioning systems retain airborne dust and particles, helping maintain system efficiency. Manufactured in different pore densities measured in PPI, they provide different filtration levels ranging from fine dust filtration to coarse particle retention.
In dust-retaining filter foams, the main parameter determining filtration performance is not density but the PPI value, which indicates the number of pores per inch:
10 - 20 PPI (Coarse Filtration): Large dust particles, ventilation ducts and pre-filters.
30 - 45 PPI (Medium Filtration): Air conditioners, compressors, engine air filters and general dust-retaining filters.
60 - 80 PPI (Fine Filtration): Precision dust retention and liquid filtration applications.

Silicone sponge is the preferred choice for sensitive and hygienic applications due to its wide temperature tolerance and excellent flexibility. It is extensively used in textile printing applications, sensitive contact points in the food industry, as a replacement for seals exposed to high temperatures and at various processing points in the pharmaceutical industry. Lighting fixtures and the marine industry are two of the broadest application areas for silicone sponge strips.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Specific Density | 400 kg/m³ and 250 ±40 kg/m³ (two series) |
| Elongation | 200% |
| Temperature Resistance | High, resistant to outdoor conditions and industrial heat sources |
| Hygienic Suitability | Suitable for the food and pharmaceutical industries |
Application Areas: Textile printing seals, sealing at sensitive points in the food industry, high-temperature seals, pharmaceutical equipment seals, lighting fixture sealing and yacht or boat cabin seals.
EPDM sponge sheet is a soft and porous rubber material that provides an ideal solution for water and sound insulation thanks to its low specific density and closed-cell structure. It is widely used for sealing applications in the electrical, lighting and construction industries. These natural rubber or copolymer-based sheets are manufactured using moulding or extrusion methods.
The most notable feature of EPDM sponge is its excellent resistance to weather conditions, ultraviolet radiation and temperatures up to 120°C. Its water permeability is only approximately 1.5%, clearly demonstrating why its closed-cell structure is ideal for water and sound insulation.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Raw Material Base | Natural rubber or copolymer (EPDM) |
| Manufacturing Method | Moulding or Extrusion |
| Specific Density | Very low due to closed-cell structure |
| Temperature Resistance | Up to 120°C |
| UV/Ozone Resistance | High |
| Water Permeability | ~1.5% |
| Standard Sheet Dimensions | 1000x2000 mm |
| Cross-Section Options | Square, rectangular, circular |
| Adhesive Tape Option | Can be added upon request |
Application Areas: Sealing of electrical panels and lighting fixtures, water and sound insulation in the construction industry and seals for door, window and façade joints.
Thanks to their closed-cell structure, these sheets provide high resistance to water vapour transmission and excellent thermal insulation performance, making them an industry standard for HVAC pipe and duct insulation. Vipad® supplies these sheets for refrigeration and air-conditioning installations requiring thermal insulation.
Custom-moulded foams shaped by CNC machining according to product geometry for use in carrying cases for sensitive equipment, measuring instruments and electronic products. These products improve transport safety by providing impact absorption and moisture protection.
At Vipad®, we supply sponge sheets in the following four main material groups:
| Material | Key Feature | Typical Application |
|---|---|---|
| EPDM Sponge | UV/ozone resistance and weather resistance | Outdoor seals and window-door sealing |
| EVA Foam | Lightweight structure, impact absorption and easy shaping | Packaging, sports equipment and insoles |
| Silicone Sponge | High and low temperature resistance (-60°C/+200°C) | Food, medical and electronic seals |
